“I value evidence, autonomy, and creating space for families to feel deeply supported and fully respected in their choices.”

Hello, I’m Chelsey.

I was born at home in the 90’s, before homebirth was something most people were talking about, let alone doing. Some twenty years later, I had my first baby at home with the very same midwife who had caught me. I remember knowing with a certainty that is difficult to explain that this was exactly what I was meant to do.

I spent some time immersed as a birth doula and birth photographer, and was content to support families and witness birth from a different perspective. Until my second birth changed everything. It was complicated, required interventions, and absolutely rocked my world. Through the skill and intuition of my midwives, we were able to navigate all of the unexpected and ultimately welcome my daughter at home. That experience changed me in a profound way, and renewed my knowing that I was meant to do this work.

Today I’ve had the privilege of attending nearly 400 births as a midwife, and every story continues to shape me as a midwife. My approach is routed in evidence, informed consent, autonomy, clinical skill, and above all; relationship. I want my clients to feel deeply known and genuinely heard. I want you to understand your options, I want you to feel confident asking questions, changing your mind, and making decisions that feel right for you and your family.

Birth doesn’t always follow the story we imagined. I believe deeply in physiologic birth, and I believe deeply that truly supporting it requires more than simply believing in it. It requires understanding the physiology, recognizing when something is changing, knowing when to act, and having the clinical skill to navigate the unexpected without losing sight of the family at the center of it all.

I’ve experienced firsthand the difference a skilled, steady midwife can make when birth asks even more of you, and it is a perspective that I carry into every birth I attend, whether it unfolds as planned or takes an entirely unexpected turn.

Birth brought me here long before I had the words for it, and I am incredibly honored that it continues to be the work I get to do
